There is also an abundant amount of land found here for you to develop on. This is a large area of the city and runs on both the north and south sides of SR 20. One of the most popular places here in Interlachen is “Interlachen Lakes Estates.” Here you will find a mixture of Ranch style homes as well as mobile homes. An added bonus is that this portion of Florida receives more than 225 days of sunshine which is great if you like to soak up the sun. There is zero snowfall here but frost can occur in the early morning hours during the cooler months. So here in Interlachen, you will get to experience the beautiful weather that Florida is known for. The low for this time is just about 45 degrees. From the beginning of December until almost the end of February the daily average high is just about 70 degrees. The coolest part of the year here goes for less than three months. The low for this time is a comfortable 73 degrees. The hottest part of the year here goes from mid May until the end of September when the daily average high is just around 85 degrees. The winters on the other hand tend to be very short, cool and pleasant. This means that the summers will be very long, hot, oppressive as well as humid. ![]() When it comes to the weather here in Interlachen it falls under the “Humid Subtropical” category. According to the United States Census Bureau, Interlachen is a total of 6.4 square miles with about 0.6 square miles of that being water. One of the most interesting things about this small town is that it is named after Interlaken, Switzerland. This town is part of the Palatka Micropolitan Statistical Area. There has never been a major increase or decrease in population here in this very small town in Florida. Since then the population here has pretty much stayed at that number. The population here in Interlachen at the time of the 2000 US census was 1,475.
